"Welcome to our website. The internet is now a major means of communication for
many Thornbury and Yate residents, and the local Labour party is keen to be
accessible to our friends and neighbours across the constituency. We hope you
will find useful information on what Labour is saying and doing in this area.
The website will be of special importance in enabling our Parliamentary
spokesperson, Roxanne Egan, to communicate with residents in the constituency.
Roxanne will be putting her messages on the Forum page and invites you to ask
questions, start new issues or simply air your views in the forum."

Roxanne Egan is the prospective Parliamentary candidate (PPC) for the Thornbury
and Yate Constituency Labour Party (CLP).

Roxanne is 20 years old and a student of architecture at Greenwich University.
She joined the Labour Party when she was 15 years old and is a member of Young
Labour. Roxanne is a reliable, self-motivated and hard-working person who is
dedicated to the Labour Party. She says, “I am young and although I lack some
experiences, I offer a fresh outlook on political views and am eager to develop
and grow, and to help others to do so as well.”
Roxanne believes that experience does not come just from “being there”, but from
the quality of involvement with others, engagement in interaction with them, and
the skill and judgement developed in using available and relevant means. She is
clear that such experience gained by young people in everyday life at home and
at school develops skills which are vital for living and should be given more
responsibility than is usual....
